“In early 2022 I challenged myself to paint a new bird every week, and to try a style that was unfamiliar to me and pushed me to a new level of creativity. This admittedly did not last all that long, but I learned a lot! This felt like a really busy background to me, and the challenge was to make Richard and his bay branch really pop out. I love his inquisitive little face – I wonder what he is thinking. Or maybe he is wondering what I am thinking. Who really knows?”
