“In early 2022 I challenged myself to paint a new bird every week, and to try a style that was unfamiliar to me and pushed me to a new level of creativity. This admittedly did not last all that long, but I learned a lot! Jenny was a lot of fun to create – I was inspired to use collage elements to create the bird rather than the background, and I love how much depth and texture this gives her. Looking at this painting always makes me wonder where she’s flying away to – even though she’s small, she looks so graceful and majestic in flight.”
